The twisted snaffle helps not only to educate young horses, but also to help keep an older horse light in the mouth. The loose ring snaffle applies pressure to the bars and corners of the mouth for direct pressure which makes it deal to ride two-handed. The mouthpiece is made of sweet iron which will naturally rust into a light patina. The rust creates a sweet taste for the horse and makes the bit more acceptable and increases salivation for a supple mouth.
